SALT LAKE CITY -- STSN, the world's leading provider of secure, managed broadband services for business travelers to hotels and conference centers, and Mobil Travel Guide, the trusted advisor for travel information, today launched the first online booking engine that enables business travelers to make online reservations based on the criteria that hotels deliver secure high-speed Internet access (HSIA), or secure broadband. Business travelers can easily access the co-branded booking engine at www.stsn.com. This is the first online booking engine that allows business travelers to identify and select their preferred hotels based on whether or not the property offers a secure network -- an important factor for business travelers who want to be sure their corporate and personal information are protected while using HSIA, wired or wireless (Wi-Fi), at a hotel. "The booking engine is a natural extension of the secure broadband service STSN provides to business travelers," said David Garrison, chief executive officer and president of STSN. "Mobil Travel Guide provides travelers with accurate information that they need to make travel choices. Combined, we meet business travelers' demand for secure high-speed Internet access and better choices when they book travel. Business travelers will now have the ability to quickly find and easily book a hotel that meets their personal preferences and their data security needs." Hotels with STSN's secure broadband service provide business travelers and guests with a means to remain productive while on the road. STSN surveys of users on its secure broadband network revealed that business travelers seek ways to connect to their corporate networks and applications, access e-mail and surf the Web while staying at hotels. Those surveyed cited protection of their corporate and personal information as being of high importance; however, there has previously been no way to easily locate and book hotels based on security. In response to this market need, STSN and Mobil Travel Guide have collaborated to offer a travel industry first: a new booking engine that enables travelers to find and book hotels with secure broadband service. The booking engine is powered by Mobil Travel Guide's online reservation system and delivers business travelers with: --An ability to find and book hotels with secure broadband, notated with a special STSN icon, so that users can make informed hotel choices --Access to Mobil Star ratings of hotels across the United States and Canada; these ratings are determined by an objective inspection process which involves incognito inspections --Mobil Travel Guide's unique rate comparison display which shows side-by-side advance-purchase Internet rates, as well as the widely available marketplace rate for the hotel --An integrated map display offering users the ability to search for a hotel by distance from an address, airport or point of interest --Detailed descriptions of each hotel along with inspection summaries on Mobil Star-rated properties "Corporations and their mobile workers are becoming more stringent in their requirements for data security and that carries over to high-speed Internet access at hotels," said Larry Dustin, president of Mobil Travel Guide. "STSN is clearly the leader in secure broadband for hotels and conference centers and Mobil Travel Guide has teamed with STSN to provide travelers with the information they need to easily locate secure environments for remaining productive while on the road." STSN and Mobil Travel Guide are also engaged in various joint marketing activities to promote the new service and to increase awareness of data security among business travelers. STSN is currently offering a free iBAHN Passport card to all users who try the system. For a limited time, all travelers who book their first reservation through the booking engine will receive a complimentary iBAHN Passport card that provides five free uses, or access to free wired or wireless high-speed Internet access, at hotels enabled with secure broadband from STSN.
